Recuperative Care

Lamp’s recuperative care center in East Rancho Dominguez is a result of an innovative partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and Housing for Health Division. This new location, offering 38 beds in total, serves indigent homeless women and men receiving emergency medical care, referred by hospitals and the L.A. County Department of Health Services. Every service necessary for homeless individuals recovering from acute illnesses, injuries or conditions that would be exacerbated by living on the streets is offered. With on-site nursing care, health oversight, case management and linkage to permanent supportive housing, this center provide an alternative to repeated costly emergency room visits by homeless men and women who are affected by chronic illnesses.
