Build-A-Village

In November of 2009 Lamp completed construction on the Build-A-Village Capital Project. The campaign called for extensive renovation at The Village, Lamp's flagship facitlity, home to 50 formerly homeless adults and site of Skid Row's only public Laundromat, showers and toilets.

Formerly a 25,000-square-foot warehouse, the space now features two music studios, a spacious community room, a new home for Lamp's Money Management program, which offers personal banking services to hundreds of Skid Row residents, and twice as many washers, dryers, toilets and showers.

Lamp Community would like to thank the Ahmanson Foundation, the Castellani Family Foundation, DreamWorks Pictures, Aileen Getty, Participant Media, Universal Pictures, the Wiengart Foundation, and Lamp’s own Board of Directors for their tremendous contribtutions that helped to turn this project into a reality.
